EU-Gateway Korea

kubit is part of the EU-Gateway program for the Construction & Building Technology (http://www.eu-gateway.eu/) in Korea from June 7th - 11th. The corresponding pre-departure in Brussels was my destination last Friday.

During the business mission in Korea I will have the possibility to meet with existing partners, customers and potential distributors. For that, the EU-Gateway team is organising private meetings as well as a 2 days exhibition where I can show and promote the kubit software solutions.

If you want to see me during the business mission you can do so in the COEX Intercontinental Hotel, Seoul, Korea on June 9th and 10th. If you are not able to be there, feel free to contact me directly or to read about the mission again soon.

GEO-10

GEO-10 is the yearly event for all surveyors in the UK. kubit (http://www.kubit-software.com/) and in person myself, together with its partner Latimer-CAD (www.theolt.com) shared the kubit-UK booth. It was my pleasure to be at this event once again and we expected a great audience to see our new developments. So it was great to announce and present the newest release of kubits' PointCloud as well as the new software PhoToPlan 3D.

Together with AutoCADs' new 2011 release, PointCloud is even more powerful when it comes to large 3D laser scanning datasets (up to 2 Billion points) within AutoCAD!

3D metric data from images in AutoCAD: Besides PointCloud, the visitors on the GEO-10 were also quite impressed of the new multiple image post-processing tool within PhoToPlan. PhoToPlan 3D delivers a new and effective way of working with images inside AutoCAD. It exploits the geometric properties of oriented images to allow precise 3D digitising.

So after all, the 2 days in Coventry worked out for kubit very well. And so I have to say "thank you very much" to Julie and Bill (http://www.bill-blake.co.uk/) who shared these 2 days with me!

Flammekuche & Rösti

The last week was scheduled for a short meeting with our partner in France, Laurent Metzger. Besides current topics like the next trade show (http://www.geometre-marseille2010.eu/) or the upcoming kubit software releases, it was my pleasure to honour Laurent with the kubit award as the best PhoToPlan seller in 2009!

The next day I was "just" crossing the border to see Hans Ritzmann, our partner in Switzerland. Hans is with kubit since 2000 and has a variety of clients in the field of Archaeology and Historical Preservation. Working half day for the "Basler Denkmalpflege" gives him the time and the connections to resell kubits TachyCAD and PhoToPlan in Switzerland. See more information at (http://ch.kubit-software.com/).

kubit-Russia

Yes, this is great stuff: kubit goes to Russia.
It was great to see my friend Leo after 15 years again. This not because of all the Vodka we had ... Leo is now in charge for the kubit business in Russia. Check out http://ru.kubit-software.com/ for more information!
kubit-Russia is alive! And with this mission we met companies like Geometer Center (www.geometer-center.ru), Jena Instruments (www.jena.ru) and Geopolygon (www.geoploygon.ru). We spoke about the kubit PointCloud software, customers and how to address them with updated marketing material, online demos and a master class training!
So at the end one thing is for sure: I am coming back to see the Russians again!!

SPAR - Success is Measured

At its 7th anniversary of the SPAR conference (www.sparllc.com), kubit was proud to be part of it for the 6th time in a row! In co-operation with Scott Diaz from kubit USA (www.kubit-usa.com), Jana Siebenbrodt, Matthias Koksch and myself were hosting the kubit booth at the exhibition area at Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, The Woodlands, Houston, TX, USA.

Despite all bad economy news from the last year, we had a great amount of people showing interest in our products during the conference. It was not always the software PointCloud they were looking at but also TachyCAD and PhoToPlan brought great awareness into the clients mind.
Highlight however was the "Closed Door" sessions kubit hosted with Autodesk. Together with Gonzalo Martinez from Autodesk (www.autodesk.com) we spoke about the interactivity between kubit PointCloud functionality and the highly anticipated next release of AutoCAD. I am very curious about the upcoming few month!
Besides that, kubit was invited by FARO (www.faro.com) to be part of their Faro user meeting were Dr. Bernd Becker (Director of Laserscanning) was emphasizing on the long and fruitfull relationship between both companies.

kubit-Polska

Our brand new partner office in Poland was my first destination in 2010. I had about 3 days to speak with my partner Mr. Jacek Krawiec und Ms. Ewa Gruszka about marketing as well as the Polish market itself. Taking the economical situation in account, the question is always: "How to promote the kubit software here?" At the end we know, that the kubit software is also an essential tool for all architects, surveyors, archaeologists and historical preservationists here in Poland. So we are very positive, that we are able to find a great community for kubit in Poland as well.

Additional information about the kubit software portfolio can be found at: www.kubit-polska.com.

Big in Japan

After being in Xi'an, China (www.heritage-china.com) and Paris, France (www.batimat.com) to support the kubit partners on these big events, I am up for Tokyo Japan!

Applying for the EU-Gateway program (www.eu-gateway.eu) who supports small and mid-sized companies in the European Communion during their first steps into Japan and Korea, the final business week is took place between Nov. 30th and Dec. 4th in the Hilton Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. These 5 days have been a great opportunity to meet potential partners and clients from Japan. So I had the opportunity to speak with the CEO from Riegl-Japan (www.riegl-japan.co.jp), Mr. Teruo Sasaki as well as Mr. Mitsuma Charlie Izawa, Senior Manager and Mr. Tadayuki Iwabu, Product Supervisor from Nikon-Trimble (www.trimble.com). In addition to that I will make a trip to Nagoya to meet with Mr. Takashi Isaji, President and CEO of FARO Japan!
.

.
I have the pleasure to be accompanied from Mr. Shinji Inaba from the kubit-Japan partner Mirukuru (www.mirukuru.co.jp) to discuss a further business relationship between kubit and FARO Japan. That leads me finally to the point to say "arigatō" to Shinji and his team who gave me again a great time while in Japan!
